Jonathan LaPoma’s feature-length holiday-themed comedy, HARM FOR THE HOLIDAYS, has advanced to the second round of the 2016 Austin Film Festival. They had this to say about the script:
“Our readers felt your script was effectively funny with nuanced and witty dialogue. Jim is a very well-rounded character with an interesting arc.”
HARM FOR THE HOLIDAYS follows an asshole with a heart of gold who moves back in with his dysfunctional family after his brother attempts suicide a few weeks before Christmas, only to find that his brother is the sanest of them all (BAD SANTA meets SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK).
This is the script’s 6th award/honor in the last two months, and LaPoma’s 92nd overall for his 9 screenplays.
