DEVELOPING MINDS Now Available for Purchase

Jonathan LaPoma’s award-winning literary fiction novel, DEVELOPING MINDS: AN AMERICAN GHOST STORY, is now available for purchase on Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble.com, and on the publisher, Laughing Fire Press’s, website.

DEVELOPING MINDS follows a group of recent college grads who struggle with feelings of alienation and their addictions as they try to survive a year of teaching at two dysfunctional Miami public schools. Kirkus Reviews called it an “Entertaining and authentic look at the troubled American education system,” and the San Francisco Book Review called it “Incredibly artistic . . . raw and endearing.” It can be seen as mix between TEACHER MAN by Frank McCourt and POST OFFICE by Charles Bukowski.

DEVELOPING MINDS Earns 4-Star Review from San Francisco Book Review

Jonathan LaPoma’s award-winning coming-of-age novel, DEVELOPING MINDS: AN AMERICAN GHOST STORY, was given 4-stars by the San Francisco Book Review:

“Incredibly artistic . . . The vast majority of college grads will relate with themes of alienation, addiction, and misguided hopes . . . Filled with drama and drugs, this novel is raw and endearing. It teeters on the edge of obscene, but really stays true to the life of an early 20-year old, amidst the drama and guise of self-discovery. Instead of idealizing public schools or idolizing functional drug addicts, it just lays out the truth.”
