LA TIERRA QUE YO AMO Official Selection of Swedish Film Fest

The Swedish International Film Festival has chosen Jonathan LaPoma and Natalia Porras Sivolobova’s feature-length, coming-of-age drama, LA TIERRA QUE YO AMO (LAND THAT I LOVE), as an official selection of their 2016 competition. This is the script’s 25th award/honor and LaPoma’s 84th overall.

Jonathan LaPoma and Natalia Porras Sivolobova’s character-driven coming-of-age drama, LA TIERRA QUE YO AMO (LAND THAT I LOVE), has advanced to the quarterfinals in the 2016 ScreenCraft Fellowship. This is the script’s 23rd award/honor.

LA TIERRA QUE YO AMO Advances in FilmMakers International

Jonathan LaPoma and Natalia Porras Sivolobova’s character-driven coming-of-age drama, LA TIERRA QUE YO AMO (LAND THAT I LOVE), has advanced to the semifinals in the 2016 FilmMakers International Screenwriting Awards, putting it in the top 7% of more than 1,500 submissions. LA TIERRA QUE YO AMO follows a 30-year old half-Mexican half-American woman who, after failing to make it as a dancer in New York City, returns to her hometown of Oaxaca, Mexico and struggles with where she truly belongs. It can be described as EVEN THE RAIN meets BEFORE SUNRISE.

FilmMakers International Advances Two of Jon LaPoma’s Scripts

The FilmMakers International Screenwriting Awards has advanced Jonathan LaPoma’s scripts THE WAY BACK HOME and LA TIERRA QUE YO AMO (co-written by Natalia Porras Sivolobova) to the quarterfinals in their 2015 competition. Both scripts are ranked in the top 2% of the more than 2,600 screenplays listed on MovieBytes.com.

LaPoma’s seven screenplays have won 71 awards/honors in the last two years.

JON LAPOMA WINS LONDON FILM AWARDS FOR SECOND TIME

The London Film Awards has selected Jonathan LaPoma and Natalia Porras Sivolobova’s romantic drama, LA TIERRA QUE YO AMO (LAND THAT I LOVE), as the Grand Prize winner of their 2015 Feature Screenplay category. This is the second consecutive year LaPoma has won the Grand Prize in this competition, winning with his script THE WAY BACK HOME last year. His scripts have won 67 awards/honors in the last two years. LA TIERRA QUE YO AMO can be seen as BEFORE SUNRISE meets EVEN THE RAIN.

The Los Angeles Screenplay Contest has selected Jonathan LaPoma and Natalia Porras Sivolobova’s coming-of-age drama, LA TIERRA QUE YO AMO (LAND THAT I LOVE), as the 2nd place winner of their 2015 drama category. They also selected LaPoma’s script THE WAY BACK HOME as a finalist in the same category.

LaPoma has won 19 awards/honors since 10/7, and he’s won 64 overall since 2013.

Both LA TIERRA QUE YO AMO and THE WAY BACK HOME are ranked in the top 3% of the more than 2,600 feature-length screenplays listed on MovieBytes.com, and LA TIERRA QUE YO AMO is also the 4th ranked script in the romance category.

The Hollywood Sky International Film Festival has chosen Jonathan LaPoma’s scripts LA TIERRA QUE YO AMO (co-written by Natalia Porras Sivolobova) and SANDLEY as official selections of their 2015 screenwriting contest.

In the past month and a half, LaPoma has won 16 awards/honors for his writing works.
